It was easy to fake a smile for the sake of one’s job, but others could tell when you pushing yourself to the edge. The raven haired waiter at the new cafe in town, had to try and smile each and everyday just to please his boss.
But of course he smiled, even as the first customer of the day came in. A lovely looking girl who came in with her laptop, hooking up to the internet automatically. Maybe trying to catch up with friends or college work. He gave another smile, one that looked sincerely real as he asked her, ❝May I take your order, miss?❞
What a strange week this was. She just needed to make sure that some of her friends were still alive – after receiving a rather strange email that told her about Daniel’s condition, she spend a whole night thinking about what could’ve happened to him. She also needed to text her room-mate, just to make sure that everything was alright. God, that’ll be a long weekend! She need an extra dose of caffeine, even though she doesn’t like coffee that much.
The sound of a man’s voice brought her back to reality, eyes widening at his appearance – on how different from other people he actually was. She could feel her cheeks getting warmer as she was literally staring at him, eyes lowering to the menu and giving him an embarrassed laugh. She was such an awkward little one sometimes. “S-Sure. I-I’ll go with one coffee… Extra caffeine, thought. It’s going to be a long day after all…”
